Over the last few years Southern Cross has hosted a number of Taster Programs giving secondary students in Year 8 and 9 the chance to try a VET course in Term 4 at SCCVC.
This year we are offering the Program as one day Tasters in a variety of different courses. Please consider whether you might like any of your students to attend.
- Automotive Info Flyer – 13 November
- Beauty Info Flyer – 13 November
- Hairdressing Info Flyer – 14 November
- Information & Digital Technology Info Flyer – 14 November
- Furniture Making Info Flyer – 5 December
- Hospitality Info Flyer – 5 December
We are offering the program to Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 students but first preference will be given to Year 9 and 10 students who have an interest in a VET Career Pathway.
In previous years we have run the Hospitality course for Indigenous students only, as this was a TAFE + SCCVC collaboration funded for Indigenous students. This year will be run as a SCCVC Taster with a focus on Indigenous Cuisine and Indigenous students will be given first priority to attend. Students who are not Indigenous are welcome to apply and if there is space in the class will be able to attend. A second day on 6 December may be offered if required.
Students are required to discuss their participation with their Careers Adviser, VET Coordinator or Year Coordinator before they complete the application form
Applications required before Friday 9 November. Contact Michael Morris Partnerships Manager Southern Cross Catholic Vocational College for more information on 8372 4400.
