On Tuesday 11 December SCCVC welcomed the Federal Labor Candidate for Reid, Sam Crosby, and Senator Doug Cameron, Shadow Minister for Housing and Homelessness and Shadow Minister for Skills, TAFE and Apprenticeships.
During the visit the Sam Crosby and Senator Doug Cameron were taken on a tour of the College and were impressed by the state-of-the-art facilities and the flexible, supportive training and education model that SCCVC has developed. Addressing and treating our students as young adults, and working with them for success: work ready and world ready was apparent.
Senator Cameron observed that the quality of the teaching and training SCCVC offers and delivers, is sadly lacking in some VET in schools delivery. In this regard SCCVC is discernibly and obviously different to many others.
SCCVC provides a quality pathway into careers, employment and training. As a national skills shortage continues, Senator Cameron observed the importance of our work and ministry.
As both sides of politics look to review VET nationally, SCCVC has some important observations to contribute to present and future directions in VET.
